I, Arshia was in the final year of my BSc Psychology degree when I hit a standstill. I loved psychology in theory — but the actual career paths just didn’t feel aligned with me long-term. So I chose to pursue a fourth year, partly to buy time and figure things out.

Around this time, my mom — the most fashion-forward person I know — suggested starting a fashion e-commerce business. Normally I’d brush off those conversations, but this time something clicked. I started researching, exploring the space more seriously, and suddenly, everything aligned. My aspirations, lifestyle, and vision for the future finally made sense.

It wasn’t the first time the idea of starting something had crossed my mind. Back in my second year, I was obsessed with an international accessory brand that wasn’t available in India. That obsession led me to exploring materials, curating designs, looking for manufacturers and vendors in my vicinity but the niche i was looking at was too narrow and unsustainable.

Even then, I knew: I wanted to build something in fashion that felt— expressive, versatile, and accessible.

This time, the vision was clearer. Jewellery felt like the perfect medium — stylish, long-lasting, and affordable. The idea of skin-safe, sweat-proof pieces that people could wear daily without worry made fashion feel fun and expressive again. And the timing was right — I could step out of my fourth year and give this everything I had.

The Kriami Kart is co-founded by my mom and me — because honestly, I couldn’t have done this without her. She’s where I get my sense of style, my drive, and my instinct to create. This brand is rooted in both of us: two generations coming together to make fashion feel exciting and effortless again.
